Joseph Schrum of Halcyon Forge is an American Bladesmith living in Missouri. One of my all time favorite makers worldwide for the character, uniqueness and well rounded performance. Joe loves making all sorts of pattern welded steels and tries to use natural, reclaimed materials as much as possible.

This blade was forged from a core of 26c3 high carbon steel laminated in a fantastic piece of Maine structural wrought iron. The blade geometry was mostly forged in on the power hammer and the final grind is hand finished on natural stones for an beautiful smokey finish. The blade face has a nice mix of black and polished finishing, giving it an almost striped look. Perfectly balanced and finished with an oval handle made from an elegant piece of Flame Box Elder.
