The Hatsukokoro Yoake series is hand forged from Blue #1 high carbon steel laminated in iron cladding. The bevels are flattened and polished, minimizing low spots for easy future thinning. These blades have a medium/heavy weight feel to them with great distal taper. The blade is kurouchi finished with a rounded spine and choil. These come fitted with an octagonal walnut and buffalo horn ferrule.
