Kagekiyo is a premium line made in Sakai. Every craftsman that works on this line is a certified master craftsman and it shows in the beauty and finesse of these knives. The blade is forged from shirogami #1 (white #1) steel with iron cladding rated at 64hrc. Shirogami 1 is known for its ability to take a very fine edge easily and top tier sharpness. These knives have impressive geometry and are very thin at the edge. The spine, blade face and choil are mirror polished. The handle, saya, and box are all finished with the highest quality urushi (traditional japanese lacquering).
